Women Over 50 Getting To Know You Again

When I turned 49, my first thought was...I'll soon be 50.   I was seriously not feeling turning 50.

I mean, where had my youth gone and what was on the other side of 50?

Gray hair?

Canes and walkers?

How did 50 years pass by and I had missed it taking care of and raising my family?

I just could not grasp how I had ended up in this place.

But as I approached 50 this year, I began to get excited.

I still had some trepidation, some fear of aging.

But I was excited because with the realization of aging, I know knew and keenly understood that I had acquired something that was very valuable along the way....

Wisdom.

And the ability to think independently of my spouse, my parents, my peers, my children.

I felt liberated.

But then I had this question....

How should I wear my hair now?

LOL!

Turning 50 is no joke and as I talk to my peers who are all in this age bracket it appears we are all struggling with the joy of turning 50 and the "what do I do now because I don't want to be, act, or look like an old lady."

There are so many challenges facing us at this stage of life.

Ailing parents.

Empty nesting.

Becoming grandparents.

Looking at the looming years of retirement.

Health concerns.

Fashion and Beauty.  (When you look good, you feel good.)

The list goes on and on.

But there's one thing that is so utterly grand about it.

You can now live life on your terms.

And you get the opportunity to recreate yourself into the most beautiful, elegant, arresting woman you know.

And that is what this blog is all about.

Peace and blessings,

Lisa
